| I was born in New York City, and lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina until I moved to Austin at the age of 13. I have loved to draw for as long as I can remember. I remember sitting for hours and drawing anything I could. My plan was to attend art school, but that didn't exactly happen. I have 2 children, and while raising them, I pretty much stopped drawing until the summer of 2000, when I decided to take a painting class. That reminded me how much I loved art. I am still experimenting and learning on my own, teaching myself as much as I can. I am discovering what type of paintings I enjoy doing, playing with different techniques I learn from books and magazines. Well, with much encouragement from my family and friends, here is my work. I hope I can keep creating art as long as I can. It has been very rewarding and so much fun! Greta Olivas |
